Government & Law Enforcement Requests

This page sets out how Ezcods / Parth Rameshbhia Badreshiya (“EzCods”) handles requests from public authorities — police, government departments, regulators or courts — for the personal data of our users. It applies to all such requests, including any concerning data we obtain from Meta.

1. Who decides

All requests are handled by the founder, Ezcods / Parth Rameshbhia Badreshiya, who is the responsible person for data protection at EzCods. No other member of staff may disclose user data to a public authority. Requests must be sent in writing to founder@ezcods.com or to our registered address.

2. We review the legality of every request

We do not act on an informal or verbal request. Before disclosing anything we check that the request:

• is in writing and identifies the requesting authority and officer;
• cites the legal power it is made under, and is valid under Indian law;
• is specific about the data sought and the person it concerns; and
• is served through the proper channel (for example a court order, search warrant, or a valid notice under the applicable statute).

Where the legal basis is unclear or the request appears overbroad, we seek independent legal advice before responding, and we ask the authority to narrow or properly authorise the request.

3. We disclose the minimum necessary

We disclose only the specific data described in the request, for the specific individual named, and for the time period stated. We do not provide bulk exports, whole-account dumps, or data about other users caught up incidentally. Where a narrower field answers the request, we provide that field instead.

4. We document every request

We keep a written record of each request and our response, including:

• the date received and the authority and officer who made it;
• a copy of the request and its stated legal basis;
• our assessment of its legality and any legal advice obtained;
• exactly what data was disclosed, or the reason for refusing; and
• who authorised the response.

5. Notifying users

Where we are permitted to do so by law, we tell the affected user about the request before disclosing their data, so that they have the opportunity to object. We do not give notice where a court or statute prohibits it.

6. Requests from outside India

We are established in India. Requests from authorities outside India are directed through the applicable mutual legal assistance process rather than answered directly.
